Description
The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5990/1A-001 brings together the unmistakable Nautilus design with one of the collection’s most practical combinations of complications: Travel Time, chronograph and date.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 40.5mm case retains the signature rounded-octagonal Nautilus bezel with contrasting satin-brushed and polished finishing. It is paired with the integrated stainless-steel bracelet that defines the collection’s sporting character.
The dial features the classic horizontal embossed pattern in a dark grey/black graduated finish. Two separate hour hands allow simultaneous indication of local and home time, complemented by clearly marked LOCAL and HOME day/night indicators. The chronograph incorporates a central seconds hand and a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, while the pointer date at 12 o’clock completes the highly symmetrical layout.
Inside is Patek Philippe’s automatic Calibre CH 28-520 C FUS, combining a flyback chronograph with the Travel Time mechanism. The flyback function allows the chronograph to be instantly reset and restarted with a single operation.
The 5990/1A stands apart as one of the most functionally complete steel Nautilus references—retaining the iconic integrated sports-watch profile while adding genuine travel and chronograph capability.
